These are the people who have specialist roles connected with our branches, and either work in different branches or remotely. They all have clear career paths, though, and have the autonomy to shape their role as they see fit. They’re also excellent time managers and enjoy every opportunity to move up.
Over the last two years we’ve rolled out a new standard of flagship branch right across the country, and it’s received significant press coverage. From flat screen TVs to premier banking suites, they’re the most prestigious – and largest – branches in our portfolio.
In fact, when you take charge of one of them you’ll have around 40 or 50 staff from mortgage advisers to cashiers, premier banking managers, business managers and more. It’ll be down to you to achieve outstanding performance through powerful leadership of a high calibre team. Given your background, you’ll be ready not just for the biggest branch of your career, but for a role that’s only one step away from area management.
We also recruit Area Managers and Investigation/Security Managers, and there’s a host of roles which are neither back office nor customer-facing.
You’ll manage the inductions of all staff up to management level, and carry out coaching as well as ongoing training and support. You’re going to need retail and classroom delivery experience, and you might be CIPD-qualified.
Your brief will be to manage the inductions of our new Directors and Managers. With team leader responsibility for our Regional Trainers, you’ll contribute to the wider training strategy. The gravitas and presence to deal with very senior people across Barclays will be key.
We also recruit roles within Organisational Development and Talent Management.
Working alongside our Area Managers, you’ll be responsible for MI analysis and spotting trends. It’ll also be your brief to identify which products aren’t selling, working out why and doing whatever needs to be done to change that, such as increased training. You’ll have indirect responsibility for up to 200 Area Managers and Managers.
