Financial Control

This purely financial team deals with everything from reconciliations to month end. To join them you should have a financial services background and be CIMA/ACCA/ACA accredited. Alternatively, you’ll have worked in audit and have industry experience.

Finance Business Partners

This role is all about working in partnership with a particular business area, providing MI on the performance of individuals and operations, analysis and working with spreadsheets. As long as you’re commercially-minded, it’ll raise your profile within the business.

Compliance

This area functions on products and services, how those are sold and how they’re delivered. Here’s where you would provide advice and guidance, and carry out monitoring by visiting the branches themselves. You’ll make sure we’re doing everything by the book, so you’ll need to be well-versed in financial regulations, and have a background with companies that are known for adhering to good compliance and regulation.

Strategic Cost Measurement

Through thorough analysis of people and processes, the team supports strategic decision making across Barclays. Made up of high flyers with good degrees or equivalent, they have a background in audit or consultancy. You won’t need experience in cost measurement, but you should be able to make the most of exceptionally good training and handle the high level of visibility the whole team enjoys.

Risk

Since we managed our risks well during the recession, our reputation in the industry is solid, and our Risk Team enjoys a very high profile. There’s a real sense that you can influence the future, and there’s a great deal of professional reward in terms of moving on to different roles and fresh challenges.

Our Product Managers look after a portfolio of products and the risks associated, and decide whether we should continue to run with particular products or the risk is too high. For this role you need a financial services background in credit risk, key stakeholder management and market knowledge.

We also recruit fraud/money laundering professionals and have a number of reporting roles which involve statistical analysis.
