We know that the professionals we recruit are the ones who keep us out in front, so it’s vital that we start with the best that the HR world has to offer. People of your calibre can really influence the HR roadmap right across the retail bank, so you’ll have every chance to draw on your experience in another large organisation to make ours even better.
Combine this environment with your potential, and it almost certainly means rapid career progression. So take a look at just some of the roles we recruit for, and see where you could fit in.
Forget what you’ve heard about HR at Barclays. Imagine how pivotal it’s been to a bank that’s not just sustained, but improved its performance in the toughest of financial climates.
This is HR at its most vital. The roles are high profile, the environment’s fast-paced, and the exposure has to be seen to be believed. You’ll partner with an area of our business to provide advice and consult on the spectrum of HR topics – it’ll see you work with senior stakeholders right across the organisation on a daily basis.
Consultative and resilient, you won’t be daunted by the pace as you’ll view it all as invaluable experience as your career goes from strength to strength. We believe in promoting from within, so progression is a very real possibility in the future.
Based within the business, you’ll advise and consult on learning and development related topics, and contribute to the longer term learning strategy. In essence, you’ll be helping drive business performance and contributing to the alignment and consistency of our learning processes, policies, products and standards right across our retail operation.
A talented team leader, you’ll be as adept at managing stakeholders and projects as you are at controlling budgets. You’ll have good negotiation and contracting experience, and skills in delivering training and building networks.
You’ll offer specialist advice and consultation on resourcing topics from your business base, as well as manage resourcing plans for particular parts of the business and develop resourcing strategies. With ultimate responsibility for delivering headcount and skills requirements, you’ll build relationships at every level.
Your expertise in supplier management and recruitment of HR resourcing will make all the difference. You’ll also have knowledge of best practice in recruitment, such as EVP, and be familiar with employment law, compensation and benefits, and eRecruitment tools like Taleo. In fact, a good grasp of attraction and selection strategies will be key.
You’ll manage the inductions of all staff up to management level, and carry out coaching as well as ongoing training and support. You’re going to need retail and classroom delivery experience, and you might be CIPD-qualified.
Your brief will be to manage the inductions of our new Directors and Managers. With team leader responsibility for our Regional Trainers, you’ll contribute to the wider training strategy. The gravitas and presence to deal with very senior people across Barclays will be key.
We also recruit roles within Organisational Development and Talent Management.
